A few weeks ago our neighbors had a yard sale and everything they didn't sell, they let look over and grab what we wanted. My husband brought home a comfortable rocking chair, ugly, but very comfortable. After reading about how another blogger reupholstered (don't think I spelled that right) an old chair,we decided it couldn't be that hard and so we tackled the job ourselves! Here is the before.Sorry bout all the mess.We took it outside and gave it a good beating to get all the dust off.

Can't believe that is your first attempt--look like a pro. Bet it won't be your last!
Monica! Great job and great chair. How fun and wonderful...Don't you love redoing something and it turns out great? This is just the start I can see it now!
Blessings,
Debbie
Wow -- what a great job on that chair -- you turned an ugly duckling into a swan!
Gorgeous...and yes, you spelled it right ;D
It's hard to believe this is the same chair -- great job! If Hubby doesn't like the fabric, just tell him to sit elsewhere, that it's your chair!

The chair looks fabulous! No longer looks old & dingy. It is new & fresh.
Great job! Bravo! :O) Mary from Boogieboard Cottage
I agree that it doesn't even look like the same chair anymore. Looks like a professional job.
Love the fabric. I have two headboards just calling me to redo them and I am terrified of starting but if you can do a chair I can tackle a simple headboard. You did a super job!

Thank you all for the sweet comments!
Good job. I'm glad you painted the wood black. At one time, I would have never done that, but now that I have been blogging, I see how much better a coat of paint can make something. Thanks for sharing.
Your first time? You couldn't fooled me! Your chair looks terrific and I adore that fabric too! You painted the arms and legs black didn't you? It looks wonderful. congratulations.
Be a sweetie,
